AIPER Surfer S1 Review (2026)
A step up from the SE — bigger pool, same no-cord freedom.
The AIPER Surfer S1 splits the difference between the budget Seagull SE and the Seagull Pro. At $199 it handles pools up to 20,000 gallons, runs for 100 minutes, and covers the floor efficiently. If the Seagull SE is too small for your pool but $329 for the Pro is too much, this is the answer.

Full Review
The AIPER Surfer S1 positions itself in the gap between the Seagull SE ($159) and the Seagull Pro ($329). For pool owners with above-ground pools in the 15,000–20,000 gallon range who want cordless convenience but not full wall cleaning, the S1 is a sensible choice.
The 100-minute runtime handled our 18,000-gallon oval test pool with about 7 minutes remaining. The Seagull SE's 90-minute battery would have left the far corners underserved on the same pool. That extra 10 minutes of runtime represents a meaningful real-world difference.
Floor coverage is solid. Navigation uses a random-bounce algorithm (not a systematic pattern), which means very large rectangular pools may have some areas covered more than others. In round or oval pools, coverage is effectively complete within the 100-minute window.
At $199, the AIPER brand support concern is real: parts and service are primarily mail-in or online, without the local dealer network of Dolphin or Hayward. For most buyers, the 1-year warranty period is adequate — issues with cordless robots typically appear early if they appear at all.
Who It's For
Above-ground pool owners with 15,000–20,000 gallon pools who want a cordless robot larger than the Seagull SE at an accessible price.
In-ground pool owners. Anyone who needs wall cleaning. Pools over 20,000 gal.
