Full Review
The single most common complaint about cordless pool robots is battery life. The Wybot S2 answers that complaint directly: 7,800 mAh, 210 minutes, enough for pools up to 85 feet. We ran it on a 55-ft rectangular pool and it completed the full cycle with 22 minutes remaining. No mid-cycle retrieval. No recharge-and-restart.
Pool Magazine included it in their 2026 best-of list specifically for its combination of runtime, suction power, and versatility. The 90W motor draws more power than most cordless competitors â which is why the runtime and battery capacity needed to be large to compensate. That trade-off was deliberately engineered rather than overlooked.
The dual-layer filtration system captures large debris in the outer 180-micron layer and fine particles in the inner cotton foam layer. Filter maintenance involves rinsing both layers separately â slightly more involved than single-cartridge systems but produces noticeably cleaner filtration results.
The WYBOT app provides genuine flexibility: 7 cleaning modes (floor only, walls only, waterline, combined variations) and 6 wall/floor path patterns. If you have a pool with a problem area, you can run the robot in waterline-only mode to target that specific surface without running a full cycle.
Who It's For
Large pool owners (40â85 ft) who want cordless freedom without the battery anxiety of shorter-runtime models. Heavy pool users who want daily cleaning cycles without recharging between runs.
Small pool owners (the Seagull SE handles those at $159). Brand-loyal Dolphin or Polaris buyers. Anyone who needs 2+ year warranty without purchasing an extension.
