Full Review
Most pool robots use a single motor that powers everything. The Dolphin Premier uses three: one for the drive tracks, one for the scrubbing brushes, and one for the suction pump. Each is independently optimized. The result is noticeably stronger cleaning on every surface — especially the waterline, where the dedicated brush motor produces real scrubbing force rather than passive contact.
The dual filter system is the other standout feature. The Premier ships with both a standard and an ultra-fine cartridge. For pools with algae or pollen issues, the ultra-fine 50-micron cartridge captures particles that standard filters miss. Swap cartridges in about 30 seconds — top-load, no tools required.
The debris basket is enormous. In our heavy-debris test pool (surrounded by trees), the Premier went nearly twice as long between empties as the Sigma. Less interruption, less maintenance overhead.
At $799 this is a serious purchase — but for pool owners with challenging pools, the Premier pays for itself in service call savings and chemical efficiency. The 3-year warranty adds real peace of mind.
Who It's For
Owners of large, deep, or demanding in-ground pools. Anyone who has algae issues, heavy debris, or wants the absolute best cleaning performance money can buy.
Standard residential pool owners — the Nautilus CC Plus or Sigma handles those perfectly at $200-$400 less. Above-ground pool owners.
