Full Review
We have run the Nautilus CC Plus through more test cycles than any other robot on our list — and it remains our top pick for the same reasons it has always been: it cleans well, it's reliable, and it's stupidly easy to use.
The built-in weekly scheduler is the killer feature. Set a cleaning schedule Monday morning — your pool is clean without you touching anything for the rest of the season. Competitors at this price point either don't have a scheduler or require an app to set one up (which is both a battery drain and an annoyance).
The swivel cord is the other standout feature. Cord tangling is the biggest complaint with most pool robots. Dolphin's 60-foot swivel cable essentially eliminates this problem — we saw zero tangles across 6 weeks of daily testing.
The top-load filter deserves special mention too. You flip the lid, pull out the basket, tap it out over the grass, rinse it under the hose, and you're done in under a minute. The Hayward's bottom-load design takes three times as long.
Who It's For
In-ground pool owners who want the best all-around performer at the best price. This is the right robot for probably 70% of in-ground pool owners.
Above-ground pool owners (get the Dolphin Escape instead). Pool owners who want app/remote control (get the Dolphin Sigma at $699).
