The AIPER Scuba X1 is Bob Vila's "Best Filtration" pick for 2026 — the cordless robot with the finest debris capture in its price tier. Dual-filter system captures particles other robots miss, combined with full floor + walls + waterline coverage and a 3-hour runtime. The right pick for pools with pollen, fine sand, or algae issues.

Full Review

The AIPER Scuba X1 earned Bob Vila's "Best Filtration" designation after they put 9 robots through head-to-head testing in 2026. The dual ultra-fine mesh filter system captures particles that standard 70-micron filters let pass — finer pollen, algae spores, fine sand, and small organic debris.

For most pools, the difference between 70-micron and ultra-fine filtration is negligible. But for pools surrounded by trees, pools used heavily in spring (pollen season), or pools that struggle with recurring green-tinge water despite balanced chemicals, finer filtration makes a visible difference in water clarity.

The X1 is also fully cordless — which at the $499 price point means you're comparing it directly against the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus, which has a cord but brings Dolphin's brand reliability and 2-year warranty. The X1 wins on filtration quality and cord-free convenience. The CC Plus wins on brand support and warranty length. It's a genuine trade-off.

The 3-hour cycle covers pools up to 50 ft completely. AI path optimization is AIPER's label for their navigation algorithm, which in testing performed well on rectangular pools and adequately on L-shaped and kidney designs. Not as adaptive as the Beatbot AquaSense 2 or Dolphin EON 100's SmartMap, but more than sufficient for standard pool shapes.
